2010 Fishing Reports

In the first video I accidently put march 2009 instead of 2010. I can't stop doing that. There is one spot in the rock quarry right now where the weeds bust the surface. Everywhere else is not far behind though. First cast nothing. Second cast I threw it right past the part breaking the surface and about time it came past a bass blew up on it. I had to drag it about 100 feet through these thick weeds but he was another aggravating little 18-19 incher.



I as really surprised anything bit topwater in the middle of the day with cold water but even more surprised he bit that hard. I took my next cast right on the dam. The frog on moved about 5 feet when a good bass grabbed it. It jumped all the way out and stupid me hit the thumb bar on the hook set. I missed the bass and backlashed the reel. The bass wasn't real big but he was an easy 5-6 pounds.

I will just copy and past my report from Wednesday. I thought I posted it but I guess not.

Last night I caught my first channel of the year. I had 3 bites with one of them being right at the bank but I had too much slack and it let up. The second bite came when I casted a half bluegill on the opposite bank. I had my little penn sitting on a buck and it knocked it off and let go before I go there. I thought it might be back so I held the rod. The bobber drifted about 5 or 6 feet towards me before a fish hammered it. It jerked every bit of slack out before I set the hook. The fight was short because it got tail wrapped but it was a decent fish. About the same size as Jakes channel but mine wasn't a little butter ball. Almost twice the size of my shoe so 28ish inches long and probably 7-8 pounds. You can see where he got wrapped.

Man im getting hungry for some fresh fish for sure now, great catches and great report willy.

Thanks Mike. I'm ready for some too. We are back over at Jakes and had another good day. We got around a dozen bass and about half a dozen channels. Pics too come!

Heck ya Jake you guys are really catching the fish for sure, i think you have been out doing willy lolol congrats buddy keep up the good work and i look forward to seeing the pics every day to.

Congrats Willy and Jake!~! Very nice catches for sure!~! The weather here is finally starting to warm up. Will only be a couple weeks and it should be warm enough to do some day time catfishing as well as bluegill fishing.....

We caught another dozen bass and 3 channels. One of them was a real nice one. Of course Jake got to catch it on his birthday. I also had a couple nice bass get off right at the bank. I will post some pics tonight.

Dang then fish are eating good for as fat as they look, have you ever cleaned any to see what is in there belly's. ? congrats you 2 awesome catches.

Thanks everyone. We never cleaned one of them but the only thing in there for them to eat is bluegill and small bass. I wish I would've take a picture of the belly on yesterday's first fish. You can sorta tell he had a belly on him but it doesn't do him any justice. I'm hoping for some more return trips to this pond. Jake has moved out and once my grandparents move out it will likely be the end of it. This is the same pond we caught 48 in one weekend last year with the majority of them nice bass.

well on the weekends we mite be able to get a ride over there...... well at least i hope so

Thanks Peg. I sure wish Dannys pond was like that. We catch alot of 3-4 pound bass out of it most of the time but the last two trips we only got a couple that would make 3-4. I should have enough for another video if I ever convert it.

Well you guys sure know how to turn on the fishing switch don't you lol we still have way to much ice here but it's leaving fast fact i think the water temp is 43 degrees here so we have a ways to go since it drops at night yet. Good job on the video willy and Jake you keep on catching them fish buddy looks like a lot of fun..

Thanks Mike. It is supposed to rain Sunday so I'm going to try to go back tomorrow after school and stay until Saturday night.

Awesome video, Willy! Congrats on the catches. I agree with Mike, you two sure know how to turn on the fishing switch. I will be getting my gear fixed up for the year here within the next week. Fishing time is upon me!~!
