One more trip to Mr. Manns! I promise a nice report when I get back. After that me and Jake are going back to Danny's and I'm going to let him catch the flathead. I'm about 95 percent sure he will catch him tonight.

Make sure to get a pic buddy that will be a great fish for jake to catch.

Well we only got to fish at Mr. Manns for about an hour but we caught 11 bass. When we came to my house we went to dannys and caught 3 channels. Going back in a little while to try and get the flathead.

We ended the day with 11 bass and 3 cats. None of the cats were brown with a rounded tail. He had his chance but he came off. It wasn't Jake's fault though. The hook just didn't set right. Here are some pics. Not much story behind them. None of the cats were very big. 2 were old fish and 1 was new.













And here was big fish of the trip.

Last night. we went night fishing over at Danny's. Jake had 3 bites of big bluegill. One of them ran about 20-30 feet real fast and then let up. The bobber had drifted pretty far so I casted it back where it needed to be. A couple minutes later the same thing happened but Jake was standing by the rod. I seen the glowstick pop back up right as he set the hook. The way he hit that hard it was either one of the big channels or the flathead. About 30 minutes later he had another fish hit the big bluegill but layed the bobber over and swam in circles. It was a real nice bass. We were also pitching jigs over in the rock quarry in the holes in the weeds and I caught three. Here are some pics. We ended the day with about 10 cats and 4 bass. The three I caught were little though. Sorry about the facial expressions. We had been up since 7:30 and spent the whole day outside in the heat doing something. I cleaned a bunch of bluegill, one bass, and we cut down a tree over at Danny's and a bunch of other stuff. We caught 2 channels about 3-4 pounds, one that was about 6, and the rest of the channels were little.

Them are all darn nice fish, the bass are really nice size to, i didn't see the monster cat again though so better luck next time lolol.

We are going to the rod and gun club tonight Mike. They just put a load of fish in for the tournament so we should catch a bunch. It is a shame I couldn't go but we still had fun. If Jerry and the kids hadn't come down there with a flash light smacking the water about 11 I think he would've caught the flathead. After they started doing that they all shut down. Yea the bass was the highlight of the trip last night. He was 24 inches long and I would say atleast 5-6 pounds. That fish had a watermelon belly. That flathead is not really a monster but he will look like it with Jake holding it. This pic is from last summer.

Thanks Greg, Peg, and Andrew. We are off to the river in a few minutes. It will be Me, Jake, Jake's dad, Jake's brother, and one of his friends. we are stopping for bluegill and will try to get shad at the river. Wish us luck.

Good luck you guys even if it's a bit late lolol hope you get the big ones.

Thanks Mike. We ended up with 4 cats and 2 gar. 3 flatheads and a channel. Me and uncle Donnie didn't catch any but my cousin Jake caught 2 flatheads, their friend Jake caught 1 channel and 2 gar, and my cousin austin caught a small flathead. Pics tomorrow.

Great job on the fishing, Willy and Jake. It's still too wet here and the lakes/rivers aren't fishable yet. We're getting more rain now. I will sure be glad when all of this rainy crap stops, as I'm ready to get out and do some more fishing again!~!

Thanks Peg. We started out going by the lake by the prison to catch some bait. about 40 gills later we headed down to the river. I had fished about a mile from this spot but never came down past the boat ramps. Down here there is alot of snags but that is what flatheads like. I would love to go back with a bunch of live bluegill. Jake caught the first fish of the day. It was a small flathead that I'm surprised could get a 4/0 hook and a bluegill head in his mouth. Second and third fish were both gar that thier friend Jake caught. Both about 4 foot long. My cousin Austin caught a small flathead about the same size as Jake's and thier friend Jake caught a channel. Nothing very big yet. Finally about dark Jake had a bite on his americat rod. He pulled the rod out of the hole in the barge and when the fish hit again he let him have it. The rod doubled over and I could see where the fish was moving. My first though was he had a monster but started coming up some. I knew it wasn't as big as I had first thought but I was still thinking 30-40 until he came all the way out of the snag. It still was not a bad fish at all. Here is a pic of 3 of them. The other flathead was about the same size as the smaller flathead. No pics of the gar. All fish were released after the photo.

Really cool report Willy, i like fishing flatheads at night mostly because it is just a rush catching big fish from a big river. Congrats jake and everyone else that caught fish, sounds like it was a great day at the water for all.

Thanks Mike and Greg. Spring is about over with only a week and a half left. Danny's is covered in moss and doesn't look like it will clear up anytime soon so I guess I am going to go on and make a spring recap video. Instead of making the video like I was doing I am going to jumble it up. I will use most of the video in the first part of the song and save the pics for the solo and fast music.
