| I'm too fat and clumbsy for a V-hull .....I like a flat bottom because you can go into shallower water too....Good flounder gigging boats. | |

| Well, I got one of each, both have their place. Love them both. If I had to choose between one or the other, I'd probably keep the flat bottom, it works better for most of my fishing. | |

| My present one is flat and that is just fine for what I use it for.
In Michigan in the 70's I had a semi-V and was just what I needed to journey out in Lake Michigan for salmon fishing. It was only a 14 footer but it worked and I caught lots of salmon. When that fishery started in the 60's people learned the hard way. It was called Coho fever and many many boats got swamped with big waves and big waves breaking. It was learned real fast that a semi-V would ride right over the top of the big waves and swells instead of getting swamped or have a 10-12 ft wave break and fill your boat. I know, as I was there and done it. So a V or semi-V is just great if that is what you need.
My 17 ft tracker flat bottom is perfect for my fishing small lakes here in Florida.

| when i buy a boat it will be a 16 ft. flatbottom with an 9.9 johnson short shaft motor ...like papas .... i have had a v hull 16 footer that i peaced together ....had a blast on the rockriver with it but sold it cause i wasent lettin my ex have it !!!! | |
