Tessie We Have What They Call A MR HEATER (Sunflower Heater) I Forget How Many BTU's They Are But When It Is -10 Outside It Will Be In The 70's And 80's Inside. Them Are A Thick Canvas So Even When The Wind Blows It's Not To Hard To Keep Warm. cheers cheers cheers

Mike that makes it more understandable to me how you guys can just sit in the open on ice for hours on end in that cold temperature!!
how much fuel will you burn in a day?

There Again It Depends On How Cold It Is, You Can Have A Day That Is -10 Degrees And No Wind But Sunny O.K. That Black Canvas Really absorbs The Heat From The Sun So The Heater Don't Run Hardly At All. So If The Sun Is Out And The Wind Isn't Blowing You Don't Burn Much Heat At All, Put A Little Wind With It And Then The Heater Runs More So You Use More Fuel. cheers

I'm afraid for me to go out there, the shelter would have to be big enough for a boat to sit in, so if the ice gave way I would just be floating, although 3 ft of ice is probably safe. I think I would give it a try if I ever have the chance, but the ice deffinetly has to be thick. I'm sure I would be a nervous wreck but it sounds like fun.
