Just wondering if anyone uses the small portables here. I'm kinda looking for a new one, and am torn between the flip over styles and the older styles. Advantages to the flip over are more portable, but I kinda like one I can stand up in now and then, and unless you get a big heavy flip over, they're not very high. I go by myself most of the time, so I want something fairly light. I've got a Frabill hideout now, but it's about shot. I'm thinking of buying another one (same model) but would like to hear some opinions.

I've got a one-man HT flip-over. I've only used it twice so far, but it sure beats sitting on a bucket in the open.

Well, I bought me a new hideout today, I had to call all over eastern and central Iowa, but I found one in Cedar Rapids, about 50 miles away. Works out good, cause my oldest son lives there, and can pick it up for me. Now if the ice stays decent, I may get to use it. Very Happy

I bought a Frabill Hideout, same as I had before. I like it real well, so I figured I'd get something I knew I liked, rather than buy one I ended up not liking.

Here they are.

I picked me up a Eskimo Quick Flip II about 2 years ago and I really like. Winter fishing is usually just me and one of the boys but there is room for both my boys and me if we all really want to go. I am about 5'9" and I can stand up almost all the way in the center. The Quick Flip III is a bigger one that I can stand up in but it takes up the whole back of the truck.
