All my abus pretty much needed a good solid cleaning and a few needed some minor and major repairs and man let me tell ya it took pretty much all day to get them finished and used a couple today and its like having new reels all over again:) Mostly abu pro max reels which are solid one piece reels and cast a mile.

I have only owned 1 bait cast reel in my life. I didn't like it. The bird's nests are for the birds LOL... I will stick with my open-face spinning reels against the bait cast ANY day lolol

Once you get the hang of them theres no going back to all open face reels LOL Those silver ones are my pride and joy at $200+ a pop and 8+ bearings in them they can cast just about anything to the moon LOL

I can imagine they can. I have heard from several people that once you get used to a bait cast you will never go back to open face. Well, for one, I don't have the money to spend on new reels, so, I wil stick with my open face... I have some pretty expensive ones too.. Nothing as expensive as yours; however, they will still cast a very long way and I like them the best LOL

The best reel money can buy is the one that catches the fish LOL I love my abus but I still roll with the open face more times than not Very Happy

Nice reels Terry! I love my ambassaduers also. The only thing I use spinning reels for anymore is for bait and when I am casting small bass lures. I have heard good things about the pro max reels but never used them.

If everyone liked the same type of reels there would only be one kind made. I love my baitcasters, but use spinning and spincast too.
