| Shouldn't be too hard. Just spread out a tarp under it so when the parts and springs start flying out, they will be easier to find. | |

Thats What I Was Going To Do Grumpy But Then I Talked To A Transmission Mechanic And He Said That It Could Be Done From The Top. Well Then He Said In Most Cases That The Transmission Would Have To Be Taken Out Unless You Could Get Up There Were The Shift Shaft Is. Then He Said That I Would Have To Buy A Tool To Do It That Way But It Would Have To Be Ordered, Then He Was Nice Enough And Said That He Would Sell Me His And Just Order A New One For His Shop What A Nice Guy.(Last One He Bowered Out And It Never Came Back.) Well Folks To Cut The Story A Little Bit Me And The Boy Got Up In There And Got The Job Done Without All The Springs, Bearings, And All The Screws, Here Is A Picture Of The Tool Set That Is Needed To Pull The Seal On The Shift Shaft. (P.S. This Tool Set Cost Me 60.00 Bucks And The Part Shown In The Picture Cost Me 3.00 Bucks.) --------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- The Tool With The Bolt In The Top Of It Goes Over The Shift Shaft And Then You Need To Screw It Into The Seal Shown In The Picture, Once It Is Screwed Into The Seal You Then Screw The Bolt On The Top And It Pull The Seal Out. The Silver Looking Tool Also Goes Over The Shift Shaft The Reason For This Is So That The New Seal Can Be Tapped Into Place Even And Level So It Does Not Get Damaged, Folks The Hardest Thing To Do Was Getting The Tool Seated Into The Old Seal After That It Was A Piece Of Cake. In The Picture The Seal On The Left Is The Bad One The Seal On The Right Is A Extra New One That I Bought Just In Case I Messed Up Some How. | |

| Good Job Mike; you are one smart man on all the mechanics and have a well rounded education and the smarts to go with it. My hat is off to you Mike and I honor you. And on top of that you are a great fisherman and I do have an 8X10 picture on the wall with you holding that single speck. | |

| Glad to hear you got it done Mike. With two simple little tools costing $60.00, imagine what the bill would have been to have the shop do it for you?? Jim | |
