O.K. I Know It Is Early For This , But If You Have Muddy Tasting Fish How Can You Fix Them So There Still Eatable. Question Question Question

I Think I Read Some Were That You Soak Them In 7-up I Have Never Tried It. cheers

Mike I soak mine in either salt water or milk for about 4 hours...Rinse them well ...I never have a problem as long as I do that...

mike, i tried 7 up this last yr and it works great and a 2 liter bottle is a lot cheaper than milk.

Not when your neighbor has a milk farm...LOL....And he gives you your milk and eggs for free...LOL...

Seriously tho Mike...You don't need a whole gallon of milk to do this....You just cover the fillets and put them in the fridge...

How do you know they're muddy tasting without cooking them first and then eating them? I guess you cook a test piece first? Never heard of this before and it sounds interesting to me.

Most Of The Time Jim You Can Smell If There Going To Be Muddy Tasting, The Other Way Is If You Have Eaten A Meal Already And Know They Are Muddy. cheers cheers cheers

My grandfather had a huge above ground pool in the back yard that he kept for fish he would bring them home and throw them in there and after a few weeks he would let me go out back and catch a few to fry up. We never ran a filter on the pool but it seems as though it cut down on some of the taste.

I use buttermilk and soak a min of 3-5 hours overnight is better. Craig
