First fish in 09

I caught my first fish in 2009 tonight. First time I have been fishing in completely open water. I will admit that when it was in the 60s some ice melted along the banks. I was out there pitching jigs and worms along that little bit of water that was not frozen. I started out casting a jig. all the way around the pond with nothing so I switched to a worm. same thing as the jig. Next thing I tried was a small spinner bait (1/4 ounce or 3/. About half way around the pond I casted by a bush on the opposite bank. About half way in this bass hit. First fish of the year and a nice way to start. Won't be too long and I will be out running turtle lines again. That is a 200 pound 6 foot 3 inch kid standing behind that fish so it looks a little smaller in the pictures.

Thanks guys. I went out for a little bit after school today. Nothing today, but I was trying a different pond. Today I tried the pond I usually catch bass out of. The pond where I caught the one yesterday has size but not numbers. If you catch one it will be a good one.
