JC's 2010 Lake Lanier Fishin' Pics

Well I know Ive been scarce but change of job and a serious relationship have cut back on my fishing and computer time but rest assured what I lack in trips have been made up with good numbers of fish lately.
If ya missed last years reports check them out cause there is some quality fish porn located in that thread and hopefully I can stack this one high with more. I recently uploaded some fishing pics from Christmas break if ya havent seen them but now to bring in the new year in style ;-)

My fishing buddy from my last job gave me a call on Monday to see if I wanted to do some bass fishing and I had tried and tried to talk him out of it cause the wind was fierce and white capping the bay behind our house and the temps in the low 20's, I know its not cold to some but Ive become southernized and it feels much colder now lol but he was having none of it and kept on. So I said to hell with the cold lets do it. He finally showed up at my dock in his boat around 3 and all was well. He wanted to fish for bass but I convinced him we should check at least one of my striper spots to see if there was anything moving around, plus I didnt feel like buzzing around at 80mph on a 20 degree day lol. Sure enough when we rolled up I seen two water spouts come up out of the water from stripers busting bait. He made a cast on a fish that just broke with and X-rap and immediately hooked up and the fight was on! We only had bass tackle so the fight was lengthy at 15 to 20 minutes and after dunking my hands in the cold water he had himself only his 5th ever striper and a new personal best at over 15lbs and shortly after that he said **** bass lets see if we can catch a couple more stripers lol After that I hooked and lost a monster after a super long fight and we never did get a look at the fish but you know its big when you are having to follow the fish with the trolling motor on high just to keep from getting spooled. After that I was kinda pissed that I didnt even get to have a look at the beast but that feeling was quickly replaced with excitement 5 minutes later when while I was jigging my fluke my rod tip just froze up on a heavy thud and I set the hook not even knowing if it was a fish or not but as soon as I did it was on!! This fight lasted about 20 or so minutes on 8lb test and man what rush when I finally seen her!! This was my biggest striper since March of last year and boy oh boy am I psyched to do it again not sure of her exact weight but the picture doesnt do the fish justice by any means. It me be my personal best freshwater striper but without an actual weight I will never know hell the length was amazing and her bottom lip was as fat as a cuban cigar lol. All in all not a bad 2 hours of fishing before we got to cold. Sorry that the pictures suck they were taken on a I-phone but its better than nothing. Happy New Years Folks!!!!!!

Fishing has been good and getting better with each day! I got a 22lbr a 16lbr and a 9lbr off the dock the other night on artificial and then got spooled by a giant that I never seen. I promise I will buy a camera this week and keep tabs on all the bigguns I get. But till then here are some pics from todays trip to keep you on the hook.
