| I told Mike I would post some pics step by step of how I clean turtles. I had a little one today but the only thing I do different with a big turtle is I skin it instead of scald it. First thing is he will need a little attitude adjustment. I knock them in the head with a 2X4 or something and then cut thier head off. Then with these little ones I take a pan full of boiling water and pour it into a bucket. I put the turtle in there for a little while. After that I start peeling the outer part of the skin off. The front legs is how they look before it is peeled off and the back legs is how they look after it is peeled off. Then I cut the center plate thing off. After that I trace the outside of its shell with the knife so I can cut the legs off. Make sure you have something to put the meat in. On the big ones I take the meat inside to trim it up and skin it. With little ones like this I just trim it up. | |

| That's about the same as I do, Willy. Other than I haven't ever scalded mine. It would probably make it easier to skin after they've been scalded though. | |

| Thanks Peg, Mike, and Andrew. I usually skin the ones that I eat too Peg. My grandma loves the little ones so she everyone of them I catch. She likes the skin on the little ones if the outer part is peeled off right. I personally don't like the skin. | |
