| well AP it seems that a few always get a wet feet, but for the most part is a rule of thumb once the ice starts changing colors(dark grey is bad ice) you need to start getting things off the ice. now once this happens then you get the pull sled out because you need to be out there to catch the early ice off crappies just watch the dark colored ice im sure some one else will chime in on this. | |

| The state of MN also has laws about this. For the southern half (or maybe 2/3) of the state, houses must be removed from lakes overnight by the end of February. I think the northern part of the state gets a couple more weeks.
