| Yep, it's a steelhead trout! Great catch, John! Thanks for sharing the photo's with us! Looks like a wonderful meal too!~! When I saw the title, "Fish Story" and it was from you, I was thinking OMG! What did he do now?? At least it was a "productive" kind of fish story this time! LOLOL | |

| Folks i brought this to the attention of a local site that i go on and they all say Brown trout, Out of the 9 people that answered to my post all say Brown Trout. Great catch buddy, i bet that just melted in your mouth to. | |

| I do agree 100% Brown trout used to catch a lot of them back in my trouting days of downrigging. | |

Do Browns usally get that big? That sucker was 2 ft long. Or, it it a normal size? Also, I didn't know trout would hit cut bait like that. Buddy, he slamed it hard.

| Ok i asked the question you asked john about the size of the fish and this is the response i got, remember this is in Minnesota in lake Superior there should be know reason why they wouldn't get this big there.
browns can get BIG! Our state record is 16lbs 12oz w/ a 20.6in girth caught in Lake Superior. I'm sure Lake Michigan is home to even bigger browns! | |
