Mission Statement

Welcome to "Big Fish Midwest." We would like to say a few words about our site and also let new members know that we are glad that you have decided to join us on our fishing site.

As the name implies, we are located in the Midwestern portion of the United States. However we want to express our desire to have members from all over the United States as well as the entire world join us. Everyone is welcome here.

Our goal is provide a board where members can openly discuss any type or types of fishing that they may interested in. Share information, photographs of their catches, stories, meet new friends and promote the sport of "Fishing" in any way that we can.

We want to provide a place where people can come to learn more about the type of fishing that they enjoy, or for those who are very knowledgeable, to have a place to pass on their knowledge on to others. A place to share techniques, tips, stories and just have a good time helping, and supporting each other along the way.

We are a new site and have forums for pretty much all types of fishing in the U.S., but as time goes by there will possibly be a need for new forums, and they will be created to cover those particular topics at that time. So if you think that we could use a forum to cover a topic that we don't currently have, please bring it to our attention and we will see what we can do to provide that. We will always need input from the membership to make this the best site that we can.

Our site is pretty much "Fishing Specific." In other words there are no forums for other sports such as Football, Car Racing, etc. We want this site to be about fishing and promoting the sport of fishing.

As for the rules of our site, we are bound by law to have certain rules imposed upon us, as do most other websites on the internet, and those rules MUST be adhered to by everyone. Those rules are the phpBB rules that are imposed on websites by the hosting companies of those particular sites, such as ours here.
As for our own rules, we don't have very many. Pretty much all we ask is that members be respectful, and have consideration of each other. We don't allow profanity. We don't allow members to talk down to, or about each other in a derogatory manner. Unlike some sites, we do not care in the least that you belong to other similar sites, and as a matter of fact, it is none of our business what other types or how many other sites you belong to.

Well that's pretty much it in a "Nutshell." We want to welcome you again and encourage you to be an active member of our site and enjoy yourself here. Thanks for signing up with us, and we're really glad to have you as a member here at "Big Fish Midwest." Thanks again very much.
