Subject: Knightfishers/bassfishers fish house removal Wed Feb 11, 2009 10:59 pm
My son and his brother in-law went out today and removed his house off from lake Minnewaska, the ice is not good out there folks so be careful if ya need to get out there maybe even check it out with a ATV. The water was a little deep in most area with some areas that would make ya think twice before you went any farther.
The house was still sitting on it's own Island but all around it was water with it being deeper on one side, because the wind was cutting a horse shoe around the house fact the would have only been about 2 more days of wind and it would have been open.
The water was running under the house here making it's own little river.
Here is a few pics of the water depths that they took it's hard to read but you can still see the numbers on the stick. There was water there that was deeper but why get your feet wetter than you have to but the pictures say pretty much how shitty it was. If you look at there feet you can see there standing in water every were they walk.
Look in the water you can see his foot in this picture.
you can see him leaning over to put the stick on the bottom.
Here is a few pics after that got that wet thing on my trailer then they made the trip home.

Holy cow! I'm glad y'all got it out safe and sound! That looks like it could be VERY dangerous!

Dang man! its looking like not good! we don't have been put our ice house on the ice... There's some open water in Fox Lake but its not our area.

I would not want to do that at all. Looks like every one was all smiles however. Great story and pictures to go along with it. How thick was the ice beneith the water?
