| Mike- yep while chatbox LOL.. Today this afternoon, it was very windy 30 degrees, not too bad.. So my dad caught 28" pike no pic. So in few min later, one tipup was up so it was my turn so I pulled a 37" 12lbs fatty pike as my biggest to my date! It was long battle with 8lbs line test. | |

| Baked Pike. 1 pike, cleaned any size will work salt and pepper, to taste melted butter Lemon Juice I like to use a mixture of 1 stick (1/2 cup butter) to 1/4 cup lemon juice to baste all through the baking period. Stuffing: 1/4 cup butter 1/4 cup chopped onion 1/2 cup chopped celery 4 cups dry bread crumbs 1 tablespoon chopped fresh parsley, or 1 teaspoon dried parsley flakes 1 egg, beaten 1/2 teaspoon poultry seasoning, or dried thyme leaves 1 teaspoon salt 1/8 teaspoon pepper or you can use stove top stuffing chicken flavor. Directions. Scale fish remove head, and fins but do not cut the belly open pull innards out and wash well now sprinkle inside with salt and pepper. Place fish on well-greased baking pan. Melt butter in a skillet over medium-low heat and saute onion and celery until tender. In a mixing bowl, combine sauteed mixture with bread crumbs, parsley, beaten egg, poultry seasoning, salt, and pepper. Mix well and add a few tablespoons of water if the mixture seems very dry. Stuff fish loosely and brush with melted butter and lemon juice mixture through out baking time. Bake at 350° for about 45 minutes to 1 hour, or until fish flakes easily with a fork. Remember that you can also use stove top stuffing, but home made is better. her ya go this will work for other fish to but i like it with pike the best. | |

| Yesterday it was pretty cold out on the ice, we set up 6 tipups on ice all day and night.. We caught a three little pike and only one 17" walleye... SLOWWW.... Today we are staying home because of -30 to -40 wind chill, too dangerous to go out on ice.. its not worth it.. wait for next week, its should be warm up back to 30s.. | |
