11/20/08 Lake Lanier bassin report (with pics)

I guess now that I live on the lake and fish as much as I do I can adapt to the changes more quickly and effectively. Started out the day at dawn took a cruise around and didnt see no stripers busting bait so I switched over to bass. I started out throwing zoom flukes and senkos and didnt generate interest so I tried something I never had much luck with in jersey; slow rolling a single blade spinner bait just off the bottom and making contact with the rocks. I made the focus of my attack long points facing east with deep water near by Turns out it was the right decision as I had my first bass in the first few casts. After that fish I had missed quite a few and didnt have a hook big enough to use as a trailor hook I managed 3 more within an hour. I then decided to get gas on the lake ($3.89 a gallon ) When I got back out I dropped my trollin motor and it quit after about 5 minutes 4 months old and its already dead but the original trollin motor with the boat lasted 26 years Im a little pi$$ed about that. but anyway heres some pictures. All spotted bass today but they fight better than largemouths anyway so I aint complainin especially on ultra light tackle

Thank You Terry For The Great Post Them Are Some Nice Looking Fish And It Looks Like You Were Prepared For The Weather This Time. Bass Fishing Was Something That I Never Got Into Like I Did With Pike Or Catfish, Don't Get Me Wrong They Are Great Fighters And Are Fun To Catch I Just Never Had A Taste For Eating Them So I Never Fished For Them. Hope That You Can Fix Your Trolling Motor I Hate When That Happens Specially When You Need It Most, Say If Your Main Motor Goes Down Any Way Thanks For The Great Post Terry Them Pictures Have Me Hoping For Spring Already Theirs Ice On The Lakes Here.

Very nice...... Do you eat those or just catch and release....My brother-in-law loves those things....

I wanna keep some but Im usually stretching the wire before work and usually dont pack it in with enough time to clean the fish and enough time to get ready for work so its mostly for sport

Yep Don't Leave Them In The Cooler Again Your New Neighbors May Not Like It To Much, Hell I Could Smell Them Last Ones Why Up Here.LOLOL

Hey Mike I had a pretty good report today as well but the batteries in my camera took a dump during one of my pictures. The bite was a bit slower but the size averaged bigger. If I see decent weather tomorrow I should have some decent reports
