I worked this week on my honeydo list at the lake.
I wanted all items to be finished by the third week of May
when flathead tend to start feeding activity.
As I was assembling a porch swing a neighbor stopped by and told me his neighbor just caught a 49 in the daytime across the road from the house.
I was interested but figured it was a fluke early fish in shallow water.
The last item on my list was to prepare boats and get tackle ready.
On my way to the tire store I talked to a buddy and he told me that Sat night he caught a 27-35-47 pound flatheads from deep water. That got my interest because it means the flathead are out of wintering spots and feeding around the lake.
Needless to say my project list will get trimmed and necessary items will get accelerated. I went from considering crappie fishing and mapping submerged timber to full blown flathead fishing in 10 seconds flat
