FARGO, N.D. (AP) - Fargo police say a 49-year-old woman was arrested on suspicion of drunken driving after she attempted to drive up a clay levee near the flooded Red River.
Capt. Tod Dahle (dolly) says it happened Sunday night in a south-side neighborhood right next to the river.
Dahle says the woman, who's from Dilworth, Minn., was on Lindenwood Drive driving parallel to the levee when she approached a section where the levee blocks the entire road.
Police say she tried to drive her van up the bank and got stuck. Dahle says she was lucky she didn't get all the way over, because she would have ended up in the floodwaters.
Dahle says engineers have checked the levee and concluded there was no damage.
