We have some plants that the water hose won't reach unless I connect 2 or 3 hoses together and that's too much work. I'm always looking for an easy way to do things, so here's what I came up with. I took a 5 gallon bucket and drilled a tiny hole in the side near the bottom. I stick a toothpick in it to plug it. Then I fill it with water (and a little Miracle Grow) and take it out to a plant that's too far from the hose, set it near the plant, pull out the toothpick and let the water slowly run out over time. That way it saturates the ground much better than just dumping a bucket of water.

Thats A Pretty Good Idea Grumpy, I Seen Another Guy That Used The 5 Gallon Bucket He Drilled A Hole On The side At The Bottom And Attached A Hard Plastic Connector For A Fish Aquarium Air Hose Then Connected A Fish Aquarium Air Hose To It And buried The Other End In The Ground By The Root System, When The Ground Was Dry It Would Take Some Water (I Think He Also Put A Lid Tight On The Bucket) It Worked Pretty Good Because He Was A Truck Driver And Was Gone Quite A Bit But Always Had A Awesome Garden. cheers
