Spawning Crappie...

I have always heard that the crappie is spawning when the dogwood trees bloom...
But I have found that if you wait until the dogwood blooms you just might be missing out on some of the biggest crappie spawning...I believe the biggest and strongest will spawn first...They will move into the shallows first..

Yep, best time to catch them in April for Wisconsin, they are crazy hitting on it so good time to catch them in April.

I Don't Know If The Dogwood Trees Are Blooming Here Or Not But Middle April Into Beginning Of May In The Shallows Is Prime Crappie Time Here In My Area. Now South Of Me About A 100 Miles They Start First Week In April Do To It Being Warmer Than Were Im At.

So toward the middle of March down here might be the best time then or maybe even the first of March. Hmmm may have to try it this year, I've never targeted crappie.

They are starting to move into the shallows here now..I have talked to several people...They are now catching crappie suspended over brush....And they tell me they are full of eggs..It will not be too long now..
