Today was my first Black Friday shopping experience. I usually stay away from the crowds, but Academy Sports in Nashville had Quantum Code Red reels marked down from $79 to $39 and I just had to get some. I got up there about 5 minutes after 5:00 this morning and the parking lot was full. I made my way inside and there was a long counter in the back for hunting and fishing and about 20 people in line. Just happened I was at the back of the line and at the end of the counter where the reels I wanted was. A clerk came back there and picked one up for another customer and I said, "can you hand me 4 of those". He set them on the counter and I headed to the checkout and was out of the store within 10 minutes.
Then I headed to Bass Pro Shops to get Me, the wife and the kid a pair of boots. The parking lot was full there too and there was a line of people about a half mile long trying to get in. I never stopped. I just drove right out of the lot and headed home. No way I was going to go through all that.
I'm giving my son 2 of the reels and don't know yet what I will do with the other two. I haven't bass fished in 2 or 3 years and my old reels are just sitting here collecting dust. I might sell my old ones on ebay and keep the new ones just in case I decide to go catch a bass or two. Or, I might sell the new ones and keep my old ones.
Sure are some pretty reels.
