EDEN VALLEY, Minn. - A Spicer couple, whom friends said were newlyweds, was killed over the weekend when the motorcycle they were riding was rear-ended.

It happened around 4:20 p.m. Saturday when 50-year-old James Nelson and 43-year-old Amy Nelson, both of Spicer, were headed westbound on Highway 55.

According to the Minnesota State Patrol, 30-year-old Sarah Klein of Eden Valley rear-ended the two; they were not slowing or turning at the time.

Klein is being held in the Meeker County Jail on charges of 4th degree DUI and 2 counts of Criminal Vehicular Operation.

"They were really really good people, they loved life," Debbie Mullins, a friend of the Nelsons said. "They were proud, they were so happy, they just got married in winter and it's just sad."

Mullins said she felt the need to visit the accident scene Monday.

"(Being at the scene) makes it more real," Mullins said. "I mean, you see lines and stuff but when you find their phone; Jim's work phone, you find Amy's button off her jacket ... it makes it even more real."

"I needed to see if it was true, and I just needed to see for myself, Mullins said. "It just doesn't seem right. It doesn't seem like them to be gone. They should be at home ... it just doesn't seem right, it doesn't seem fair," she said.

Sarah Klein is being held in the meeker county jail after she was treated for minor injuries. She faces a 4th degree DUI charge and two counts of vehicular homicide.

Mullins said she hopes Klein will learn for her actions and that she gets the maximum sentence possible.

"It's not fair to the people out here enjoying life, taking a ride on their motorcycle, for somebody to drink and get behind the wheel of a car," Mullins said. "I think that person should have the maximum (sentence). Because not only did she take one, but she took two lives."

Man i seen the pic of the car on the news, remember that these people were not turning or stopped and lets just say that the drivers side front wheel was just about in the front seat.
