Today while working in the yard at home my son josh ended up chopping his wrist with a machetty and severing the tendon that goes to his thumb. He has no use in that thumb right now and they are trying to get it working in surgury as i type this. Please say a prayer for him as he is a very active kid and without a thumb it could be tuff for him the rest of his life. Sad

Well surgery is over and they sent him home already, we have to be back tomorrow afternoon so the doc can check things out again. It was worse than what they thought because he ended up cutting the tendon that makes you wrist go up and down, plus he cut the tendon that lets him raise and lower his thumb. They have repaired them the best that they can do and they say that the prognosis is good because he is young, but there is still that chance that it may not take and he will have to deal with it the rest of his life. Any who i will keep you all updated as to how things go, keep him in your prayers please.

Hope your wrist is getting better and hopefully they were able to repair the tendons well enough so you will have usage of them. Prayers are sent from Ohio.

Sorry for being late with this update.

Ok i know i am late with this but on Monday Josh had his stitches taken out and the arm cleaned up again then fit with a new cast, this cast will have to be on for 3 weeks with very minimal movement. After the cast comes off he will start his therapy on the movements of his fingers and wrist, it's still pretty tender but things look like they will be ok but won't really know for sure till he starts his therapy.

That extra wrap on the wrist is just a dirt cover so it stays clean in that area. cheers
