| Just wondering when yall are fishing for cats do you use 1 hook or more than 1 hook on a pole. I'm thinking about using a slip sinker with a 3 way swivel on the bottom with a leader and hook on the other 2 eyes of the swivel. | |

| I only use 1. Never really thought the extra hook would help anything except finding snags. The scent off the first bait should flow down stream just as far as the first so extra scent wont help. Chances are very slim 2 fish will bite at the same spot same time although I have seen it done. I think the extra hook and leader will cause more trouble getting tangled together than it would help especially in current where it will throw the baits around. Just my 2 cents, | |

| i only use one hook ...just because of the tangle mess ....how ever i have seen 3 hook set ups n they did catch 2 fish @ one time but looked more like a headach to me ....i have seen an old guy catch catfish on a normal hook with chicken liver ......a nother good bait to use is turkey livers ....tuffer for the fish to get them off the hook | |

| I've always just used one, but I know some use two. I always wondered about the tangles also. Years ago we would use a double floating jig while trolling for white bass on the Mississippi. Once in a while you'd get a double, and the fight was on!. I think the advantage for cats would be using an attractor type bait on one to draw them in, then something else to hook them? | |

| I use live baits for flathead and get plenty of tangles with just one hook. | |
