What Happens??????

You know,,with my luck,if I ever got to go ice fishing,,i'd have a 6 inch hole cut in the ice and hook into a 7 inch wide fish.

well theres 2 ways that you can do this john, one you can reach down the hole and grab the fish, and 2 you can buy a gaff hook and use it.

Yea,but if it wider than the hole,,how do you get it through the hole..I know you guys hook into some perty big fish ice fishing.

there slippery enough that they would slide right up the whole, but i have seen a catfish one time that wouldn't come up a 4 inch hole. it really depends on what you are fishing for when you hook onto this big fish, i guess you could loose one that way but i always have a 10 inch hole that i fish from.

Yep,,I could see how a catfish could cause problems.

I don't like to go any bigger than a 6 or 8 inch hole around here. It's a well known fact that anything you drop on the ice automatically slides right to the hole. I had to help a guy once, his foot slipped into a hole and he couldn't get it back out without taking his boot off. I had to hang onto his boot while he pulled his foot out so the boot didn't sink. Needless to say, that pretty much ruined his day.
