| I know this isn't much, but hey, it's a start!~! Moparman and I went to a pond by the old Water Treatment Plant in Montpelier, OH. We heard that there were good fish in there from a couple different people, so we thought we would give it a try. We got down to the pond. I had two poles, one set up with a slip bobber with a black ant hook and a wax worm on it. The other pole I sat up as a bottom rig, with the sinker on the bottom and two hooks above that, about 12-15" apart. One hook I had a chunk of hotdog, which I put garlic powder, regular salt and some red kool-aid in it. On the other hook, I just had chicken liver, which I also used garlic powder and regular salt in them. I got my bobber pole set up and out in the water. I had a few little nibbles and caught two small bluegill. I then set my bottom rig up and casted it out in the water. I only waited for about 20 minutes after it was in the water and bam.... run...... slack........... Bam...... Run and she took off zinging my drag ( I keep my drag very loose as I fish with spincast reels). Before I set the hook (if need be) I tighten the drag up just a tad. I fought her for a few minutes, then she came rolling into shore..... This is the pic of my new PB!~! 6 lb. 1 oz. Channel Cat! | |

| I was looking at that belly to willy, they are feeding good there for sure. willy it's fun to do, and you can always get a idea as to what time of day the bite the best and even recording the weather conditions will help big time. One other thing i also did was kept track of the type of bait i was using, you can make up a chart on your computer and print it out or just use a note book either way it's fun. | |

| Thanks, guys! I released it. If I wouldn't of had to be to work for 7 this morning, I probably would have brought it home and cleaned it. Oh well, it will be there for the next time I go out. | |

| I allways skin mine and then fillet them. Bluegill and stuff with scales I do it the easy way. I cut right behind the head, cut my way back to the tail, flip it over, fillet the meat right off the skin, and cut out the ribs. Eventually you get good enough you can do it in one motion. | |

| I wish cleaning a red fish was that easy...The scaleas are way too thick to do it fast....I can still clean two 20 pounders in about 15 to 20 minutes though...not too bad.,,Taks 2 knives..a serrated and a fillet knife. | |

| I don't skin my catfish either. That's what I have an electric fillet knife for LMAO. I do it just like Willy explained it. I can clean bluegill, crappie etc. pretty quick with a regular fillet knife too!~! | |
