I seen it as it happened....After the race Edwards was a little upset about the roll cage design and mentioned a few harsh words about NASCAR.....Cant say I blame him...NASCAR usually waits until someone dies before making changes....Theyre really lucky that the fans werent hurt on this one.

Yep that was damn close for sure for the crowd.

Yep yep it was. When they were replaying the race, the announcers said that there was no debris that went into the stands. Guess they were looking with their eyes closed. I seen debris fly all through the stands. The after math of it when they were talking about it, they said that 7 fans in the stands had non-lifethreatening injuries.

I heard that one lady has a broken jaw and permanent facial scars.

Wow! I haven't heard that yet..... Will have to keep my eyes and ears open.

Heres a story on it...Doesnt mention bad cuts to the face but does mention a broken jaw.....

TALLADEGA, Ala. -- Seven fans were injured by debris when Carl Edwards' car went airborne into the safety fence on the final lap at Talladega Superspeedway on Sunday.

Track medical director Bobby Lewis said none of the injuries was life-threatening but two women were airlifted to Birmingham hospitals. He said one likely had a broken jaw and the other was not injured but was taken because of a medical condition.

Lewis said they were airlifted because of traffic, not the severity of the injuries. The other six were treated and released.

Edwards was trying to block a move from winner Brad Keselowski, and contact sent his spinning car over Ryan Newman's hood and into the fence on the frontstretch.

The fence held and Edwards' car landed on the track.
