Here's something I rigged up today. Them cats are kinda hard to drag through the hole with 4 lb test, so I taped a big throw line hook on a 20" length of dowel rod. Worked real well on the one I got today.

I seen something like that the other day when i was a another guy's house but he used a real big treble hook on his, he said it worked real good also but he uses his on pike. thanks for the idea buddy. cheers cheers cheers

Well, my idea was to hook them in the mouth, but this one came loose as soon as I got him in the hole. I was able to hook him in the side before he got turned around and got away.

yep that other guy i was talking about took and drilled a hole in the end of the dowel and put a good glue in it and stuck the hook in the hole, good idea for what they cost on the store. cheers

if you need one that is pretty tough mine is made from a 24" philip screwdriver
sharpened the point heated in the fire and bent around a pipe then reheated to cherry red and drop tempered in oil

thats a nice one pappy, them come in handy when you have to reach down 3 feet of ice, that water gets a little cold. affraid
