LAS VEGAS (AP) - The brother of O.J. Simpson's ex-girlfriend is soliciting money to appeal Simpson's conviction and prison sentence on kidnapping and armed robbery charges.
Barrett Prody of Fargo, North Dakota, has created a nonprofit and an Internet site to raise money for Simpson. He says he wants to help a good friend.
Simpson was convicted for the robbery and kidnapping of two sports memorabilia dealers in Las Vegas.
Prody's sister, Christine Prody, was Simpson's girlfriend for more than a decade after the NFL Hall of Famer was acquitted in the slaying of his ex-wife, Nicole Brown Simpson, and her friend, Ron Goldman.
Barrett Prody says his sister, who lives in Fergus Falls, Minnesota, has no connection with the fund-raising effort.
