Well a lucky leprechaun will not be enough to save a drunk driver from law enforcement through the St. Patrick's Day holiday.
Starting today, law enforcement throughout the Midwest will conduct an impaired driving crackdown, running through March 17th.
And according to the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration, over the past 5 years 851 people have died in motor vehicle crashes during the St. Patrick's Day holiday.
Out of that number, 327 were killed in accidents that involved an impaired driver.
So the message this St. Patrick's Day holiday is simple, if you drive drunk and get caught, you will be arrested.
