TORRANCE, Calif. – Amid tears and trembling, a Santa Ana teenager and her Chihuahua puppy named Lola have been reunited after the dog was stolen from her boyfriend's truck during a burglary in Torrance. Police recovered the dog and returned it to 18-year-old Brianna Bartolone on Wednesday. Sgt. Bernard Anderson said the dognappers smashed the window of the pickup and snatched Lola on Sunday.
Police said a 20-year-old man and his girlfriend were arrested Tuesday when surveillance cameras at a Target store in Gardena caught them in the middle of a spending spree with credit cards stolen in a nearby car break-in.
Detectives said they found the dog at one of the suspect's parents' home and believe he gave the pilfered pooch to his little sister.
