REDWOOD FALLS, Minn. (AP) - A Redwood Falls man has died after a tractor he was driving on the side of a highway was hit by a pickup that slid on an icy patch of road.
Sixty-five-year-old LeRoy Triplett had just purchased the tractor and was driving it home Tuesday afternoon around 5:45 p.m. when it was struck by the pickup. Triplett was taken to the Redwood Area Hospital with head injuries, then airlifted to North Memorial Medical Center in Robbinsdale where he died Wednesday.
The 17-year-old driver of the pickup truck suffered only minor injuries, as did the driver of another truck that was behind the tractor and was also struck.
The victim owned a barber shop in Redwood Falls, and his wife, Sara Triplett, is a former mayor of the city.
