Still nothing I would consider big but it is bigger than the other channels I have caught. The water is way low over at Danny's and the water is still cold (you can see the snow in the one pic). The bluegill were swirling everywhere but it didn't seem like the big channels were chasing them. Everything is out of the water right now so the only difference in one spot and another is the depth. I tried the shallow side first. I caught one small channel and snagged a bluegill about 2 inches long. I wanted something bigger so I tried the deep side. I hooked a nice one on the little gill. Must of had a bad spot on the leader because it popped about 45 seconds into the fight. Trent came down for a little while and I hooked another channel on the same pole. I could tell he wasn't very big but I knew he was bigger than the others. once he came up to the top he was splashing everywhere. While I was fighting this one Trent was taking pictures of the fish. I think he was more excited than I was. Here are some of the pics that Trent took.
Here is how low the pond is now.
The fish.
I love my new reel I bought. It is a 6600d6. It has the magnetic brakes. My only complaint is that the guide doesn't move with the line when you cast. It is okay when you are taking long cast but it sucks when taking short cast. It is in the center of the pic. I caught both channels off of it today.
