Wow i can't believe what i am seeing in the stores around here for prices on jig sticks. now i use to be a old fashion type of fisherman when it comes to winter angling, just a plain old jig stick yes the kind you have to pull all the line up by hand. but looking at the price around here being 6 bucks for a plain old jig stick i have now gone to using all reels which only cost me 3 bucks more for the rod and the reel and there is no more tangled lines, and you don't need to go expensive either to have a good setup yes i still have some of the old rods but i use them for the shallow fishing times were you don't have to reel the line in. cheers cheers cheers

I still like the old jig sticks with the plastic reels. I've had them for years, and if one gets pulled down the hole, I ain't out a whole lot. I use spinning reels sometimes, buy most of the time, I use these, especially in shallow water
