Yesterday me and Luke went to a fishing benefit for a boy with a bone disease. They had one last year, and the roads were terrible on the way home, this year was no better. But a lot of people drove up to 2 hours to fish this, and there was a good crowd showed up. I got some pics myself, and some of these were taken by the admin of another site I belong to that supports this cause.
Here's some of the crowd of shacks and folks on the pond we fished.
The guy on the right in this pic is a neighbor of Kyles, and has the derby on his pond and uses his shop for the registration and weigh-in. He's a first class guy who spends a lot of time and money for this.
Some of the people fishing.
Here's a pic of the boy the benefit was for. He still likes to get out and fish a little, and won a fishing chair and a set of binoculars in the raffle they held afterwards. His Dad is on the right, and the guy on the left works for Scheel's sporting goods store, they donated a BUNCH of really nice prizes for the raffle.
This pic is Kyle and his mom, the guy on the right is the owner of the website that helps out.
They had brats, chili and other food afterwards, that's me and Luke getting ready to feed our faces.
A couple shots of the crowd at the weigh-in, and a group shot of some of the participants afterward.
I'm not sure how much money was raised, but there were at least 60 or 70 people fishing at 10 bucks a head, and well over a thousand dollars of raffle tickets sold, plus the website had 300 dollars of entry fees donated online from people that couldn't attend, so it was a good amount.
