Excellent video. It is amazing how them things continue to stand with all that pounding. And they are man made.

Yes; Little Point Sable on the western shore of Lake Michigan still has a light house that is standing. The live in house is gone now.

I went to school with a girl that lived at that light house. My own Father ran the first power line to that light house and he let me observe the dinamiting of one of the power poles. This would have been in the very early 40's before World War ll got really going. The poles were set in beach sand so they used dinamite. My Father became friends with the Light House Family. I remember us having an after dark beach party with that family with a big fire to roast the hot dogs on. This was right along side of that Light House. In the early days that Light House was run by kerosene if I remember correctly. The light was focused with a lot of mirrors or prisims. They had to carry kerosene up the many flights of stairs. After my Father ran that first power line to them the Light House was converted to electrical.

When World War ll got to rolling big time my Father went to work at Contennel Motors and was the General Forman making crankshafts for our Army Tank engines. I think he was too old for the draft by a few months. I do not know where he got all of his smarts as he only completed the 6th grade and had to work on the farm. I wish I new many answers now as I never asked the questions when he was alive.

I'd hate to wake up knowing that was my everyday job.
