Luke and I went out to the lake a few days ago, I drilled about 20 holes looking for a brush pile, finally he grabbed the auger, and of course he found it on his first hole.
Then the little turd went to bring over the shack, and in the process of moving it, this is what my favorite ice rod looks like now.
These next two pics are what I hope to be seeing a lot of the next couple weeks, if the wind quits blowing and the temps get above zero.
This is something I talked about doing last year and never got it done. My shack pulls like a sack of bricks when there is snow on the ice, so I built a sled to haul it on. Hopefully I'll get a chance to try it on the lake tomorrow. If it works, I want to make a few additions, but I'm gonna try it out first. It was too cold and windy the last couple days to be out, so I fired up the wood stove in the shed and went to work.
It just fits in the back of my little truck.
Hopefully in the next few days, I'll have some fish pics to add!
