$3500 would be a long sit in the slammer for me, that's a lot of money around here. They should have pulled his license for about 10 yrs to boot.

Take his license and jail time sounds about right. When I was stationed in Idaho there was a guy from the base that shot a "goose" that was a trumpeter swan. I realize it is on the endangered species list and he lost his hunting privileges and had a hefty fine.
