I fished Lake Mary last week, and although 98% of the time I use live bait, I had to start using plugs to catch fish. I was fishing in about 8 feet of water and caught walleyes, sunnies, crappies, and northerns, and even a few bass. All on the west side. I fished all 4 days, but the best time to fish (for me) seemed to be in the morning. Nothing big, but alot of fun! Actually the crappies were all close to a pound.
I strongly suggest if you stay anywhere, stay at Westridge Resort. Super nice people who will do everything in their power to make sure your stay is a good one. We stayed there last year, and already have a deposit for next year.
They say October is hot for walleyes.
They also rent fish houses for about $95.00 a day. They furnish everything but bait and probably food.
Highly recommended!
