Does anybody out there make up thier own baits and if so do you have a good recipee that works in your part of the country??

Yes Sir PAPA I Like To Make Strawberry Flavored Smelt, 90% Of Any Of The Catfish You See Me Or My Kids Holding Are Caught On Strawberry Smelt. Now Im Sure That You Could Use Sucker Minnows Or You Could Use Creek Chuds Or Even Shiners But For Some Reason They Really Like The Smelt Maybe There Is More Fish Oils In The Smelt Im Not Sure But That Is What I Make For Bait.

I hear you Mike was thinking about going and trapping some minnows to grind up, I have a jar of Strawberry preserves I could add to the concoction too. I think Ill try the one I just made yesterday before I start on another one. If this one don't work maybe I'll put in a package of Strawberry coolaide or jello with it and see.
