| How long do you fish for flathead before changing locations or tactics? I know from experience that these big fish can turn off for weeks at a time. I also know that sometimes a move to another location on a lake will make a lot of difference. This year the fish were uncooperative for about 6 weeks. I think they keyed in exclusively on shad or some other available food source. Although we knew they were feeding hard we could not get a flathead to bite. Moving to another lake made a lot of difference. What I need to learn is when is it better to move or change tactics instead of trying what normally works. | |

| Them are some dandy fish there guy's and you have a great question there. when i was really hard core into fishing flathead cats before i moved a 100 miles from the Minnesota river, we use to be able to get to ant place we wanted to to fish them. then the farmers put the land into Government land and everything grew over so bad you couldn't get to these spots. well any who, we would fish these spots everyday and if we wouldn't get something with in an hour at each spot we would move to the next. wasn't thinking so much as to why they weren't were they were the last time we were there, was always thinking it had to do with the weather or the barometric pressure, water level or water temp when in all reality it more than likely had some thing to do with all the above. never really did figure it out but we had lots of fun trying and just being out in the elements of the day. man them are some great fish there guy's thanks for sharing with us. | |

| Robby, I don't get the big fish near as much as you but I do get lots of smaller fish,5lb to 30lb range..If I don't get fish usally in two hours I move..Now sometimes I set up on the bank and then its just an all night thing..Either one comes through or it don't. | |
