| Yep, most of the snow is gone around here, except for up in the mountains. It's warming up and like Tessie said things are greening up. It's sure been long overdue. Already, last night, the wife started in telling me what all her grandiose plans for the yard are this Spring and Summer. Of course in all actuality, she was really describing what I'll be doing. You know I'm sitting here thinking about it and it just occured to me, one of the best parts of Spring time that I miss. When I lived in Portland, we had a fairly large maple tree in our front yard and every Spring the Robins would build nests in it. Early in the morning just as it was getting light out, they would start chirping, making that kind of up and down call that they make. I really enjoyed listening to that. We have Robins here, but we don't have any trees in the yard for them so they don't come around like that, except to dig worms out of the lawn later in the day. I sure miss hearing thos Robins in the early morning. I know a lot of you folks must have them around where some of you live. Do any of you know the chirping noises that they make that I'm talking about? Jim | |
