My jon boat came with a livewell but no pump for it. I've been thinking about adding one for a while, but thought by the seat being filled with styrofoam on both sides of the livewell, it might be a little difficult to route the hose through it. I mounted the pump on the boat and then drilled a 1-1/4" hole in the top side of the livewell. I jabbed around until I made a hole down through he foam and then siliconed a collar around the spout to fill in the gap around the hole and make it watertight. It wasn't as much trouble getting that part in as I thought it would be. I drilled another hole in the transom and installed the pump. I put the switch for it on the battery box lid and connected the hose. I put a piece of pipe in the drain hole so when the water reached a certain level, it would flow into the pipe and not overflow into the boat. The pipe pulls out to drain the well. The whole job took about an hour or so.

The pump is mounted. See the switch on the battery box?
