Man I tell ya if there wasn't a way to really know when winter was here i could tell ya right off the bat. this is how, i drove my truck all year long in the spring, summer, fall, then it breaks down so i know for sure winter is here. right now i have the oldest boy and the youngest boy putting in a timing chain and gear in my pickup, but now to get to that timing chain and gear you have to take off the whole front of the engine including the oil pan. ok now it has been some nice days yesterday and the day but today it is 21 degrees right now with a 9 degree wind chill it just don't take long for the fingers to get cold and the nerves get very short with each other till you are warm. yep winter is here got to love it.

I am feeling real sorry for you Guys in the North Star State. I did work outside today in an old thinned out T-shirt. Did not think it was cold and did not think it was warm. Just chugged along one job after another and really did not think of the weather at all.
But after coming inside and seeing this make me feel for you people way up there. All I can do is give you sympathy. I hope that helps.

yep Bernie that is one thing we do know up here is that we know how to survive this type of weather and move on just like you did down there today. i will never put down the weather we have here in the winter, get mad yes because some times it's just to warm and interferes with the ice fishing.

We got an inch or so of new stuff today. That's alright cause most of what we had disappered except for the piles and drifts. Supposed to stay fairly cold for the next 10 days, so ice fishin' looks good for the near future.
