| Isaiah, first off, I need to know where you are keeping them that they die on you. When I was up north (we don't have wax worms here in TX very RARELY does someone get them or even KNOW what they are), I keep them in the crisper tray of my fridge, or in the garage. Some place that it's not real hot, but not real cold either. Keeping them in the fridge will make them go dormant, but once they warm back up, they will be fine. They don't recommend you putting them in the fridge though, as if the fridge is too cold, they will die on you. Hope this helps out. If you need any more assistance, please feel free to email me at p28eg@hotmail.com | |

| isaiahedwards i Hope this help for ya i got it off the net.
Wax-worms do best at a temperature of about 45-50 degrees F. That is warmer than most kitchen refrigerators. What I have done is buy one of the small, dorm room refrigerators which I keep in the basement, set as warm as possible. That keeps the temperature in the 40's and I can keep wax-worms alive in there for long periods of time. The other thing I do is sort through them occasionally to throw out the dead wax-worms and then I occasionally put them in some clean bedding. I use wax-worms for bait year-round, so I keep them alive in that frig. until I use them up and then I order more. | |
