| For years I always wanted to catch a Steelhead that weighed 20 pounds. That seemed to be some kind of magical number to everyone out here in Oregon anyhow. If you caught a 20 pounder you had accomplished something. Well after quite a few years of fishing and catching hundreds of them, I finally broke the mark. This hen came out of the Mainstem Nehalem River on the Oregon coast about 15 or 16 years ago. She tipped the scales at exactly 20 pounds. I had to have her mounted. Every time I look at that fish I can remember the battle as if it were yesterday. Jim | |
