""ODD"" Fall Bite

Fished the Tusc River with my dad last night for 6 hours in the TCBA catfish tournament.......we had live bluegills and creek chubs........we also had cut creek chubs and bluegills and we had ONE run in the 6 hours of fishing time.........the Tusc has been that way since about October 1rst.........lots of hours fishing for very few bites...........weve even tried chicken livers to get a few channel cats and nothing is working right now for us ..........has anyone else ran into a extremely tough bite so far this Fall season ?? i usually catch alot of channel cats and flatties all through October and even late into November........im just trying to figure out why the bite has been so tough ?? even the turtles quit biting .............i had rods in for almost 3 hours straight last night and none of them even moved they had the same baits on them when i reeled them in to check them.............ANY ADVICE ??? The water levels have been extremely low for about a month or so now could that be the problem........i mean the fish still have to eat right ??

Well With The Experience That I Have Had When The Water Is Low Is That They Will Go To The The Deeper Holes, Lets Say You Have 10 Feet Of Water They Will Still Go To That Deeper Hole. I Fish The Chippewa Here And It Is Only About A Foot Deep Now With The Drought, But If I Was Willing To Walk Or Push A Boat I Would Still Find The Fish In Deeper Holes Lets Say 5 Feet Or More, That Is The Best I Can Tell Ya Buddy.

thats kinda what i was thinking ...........im gonna try the deepest hole that i know of the next time i get out and see what happens !! usually i catch a bunch of fish this time of year but i think the lack of rain has them all pushed into the deeper holes and that they just arent feeding as actively as they usually do !!

I Think That Is The Right Track To Take, With Low Water Like That It Puts Alot Of Stress On The Fish And Can Really Play Havic On The Feeding That They Do, I Think That You Will Get More Bits By Fishing The Deep Hole And Maybe Use Small Size Chucks Of Bait.
